VCU’s Society of Professional Journalists student chapter hosted C-SPAN’s Digital Bus on Friday, Sept. 10, outside of the University Student Commons.

Earlier in the day, students from the School of Mass Communications appeared on “Washington Journal,” the network’s morning call-in show via Skype, a software application that allows participants to video conference over the Internet.

C-SPAN, a cable television network that focuses on government and public affairs programming, sends its Digital Bus to festivals, conferences, political gatherings, schools and other locations across the country.

Visitors to the bus learn about filming and video journalism production and can get a look at computer kiosks with access to C-SPAN’s video library and websites and high definition monitors that carry live feeds of C-SPAN programming.
